Hello.
We are just over half way through our introductions. Today we are meeting Kylie Symons and Leanne Allinson.
Kylie Symons
I live in a small town in Australia called Tumut. I have lived my whole
life basically in this country town and I love the peace and serenity
which surrounds us. I am married to my school friend sweetheart Andrew
and we share three beautiful daughters- Kayley, Emma and Bridget. I
have been scrapping since 2007 and I love a great challenge and enjoy
trying different techniques. I do like to use bright and bold colours
on my layouts which might make me stand out from the rest-LOL . I love
to cut up pp and use a lot of chipboard and embellishments on my
layouts. I do mainly scrap 12x12.

Leanne Allinson
Hi Everyone! My name is Leanne and apart from being a passionate scrapbooker, I am a busy stay at home mum to four children…. 1 daughter and 3 sons. These guys and my wonderful husband (who is thankfully very understanding of my need to create), are under constant attack from me aiming the camera at them!
We live in beautiful, sunny Queensland, just north of Brisbane, Australia and I guess it reflects in my style of scrap booking. I think it is best described as fresh and clean… but mostly honest. I have a strong urge to capture the stories behind the photos and pretty papers…and there are lots of pretty papers out there to play with!! So it depends on what message I am trying to get across. I am quite happy to create a layout that is “earthy” and I am totally smitten with white space.
In most of my layouts you will find several small photos that will take you on a journey. Capturing the images is part of my love of scrapping. Handwritten journaling telling “the story” is the other component I love but lately I have rediscovered the typewriter.
My style has been described as clean, simple, shabby chic and cluster conscious. I’m not sure how those pieces all fit together but my pages will have some stitching on there somewhere and the rule of thirds principle usually applies. I have also been converted to scrap 8.5in x 11in pages.
I really hope I can inspire you and others to scrap the “day to day” living aspect of their lives. To create something that you can look back on in the future and truly reflect on how things used to be. I am still relatively new to this hobby, having been scrapping since 2009, but I absolutely love the opportunities this craft has given me. Especially when I get to document my family‘s history.
