April 1 2017 Challenge

Woo hoo, today we launch a brand new challenge with our new Design Team!!  We can't wait to share some amazing inspiration with you!   But first let's chat about the sponsors for this challenge.

 Creative Embellishments is a new family owned company that was created by Michael and Nicolle Kramer. Lindy’s Stamp Gang is the creative” baby” of Lindy Plakinger. She passed away in 2008 after bravely battling illness. She was a self-made cartoonist, loved drawing, crafting, designing new products, and creating her funny cartoon characters! One of her greatest joys was traveling to stamping and scrapbooking conventions across the US, demo-ing to her heart’s content with her sister, and giggle partner, Vicki! Lindy’s Stamp Gang will continue, as was her hope, and dream. Her husband and daughter have taken over the company keeping her creativity alive. Tracey, (her daughter), has always been a “jar filler” in the background of Lindy’s Stamp Gang, but is now trying to fill some incredible shoes!

I will let Val tell you a bit about herself....
 

"My name is Val Thorpe and I am a wife, mother of two, MIL of two and granny of three. I live in South Africa where we have been for the last 37 years and I love it despite all our challenges. I have been scrapping for about 12 years now and I can be found most days in my rather gorgeous studio playing. I have been on the DT of OUAS, CSI, Lets Scrap, Feeling Sketchy, Black with 1, and Scrap Africa. I have been published in several magazines including a couple of overseas one and I have taught classes too but I don’t really enjoy teaching. I withdrew from all of it when my grandies were born as I am very busy with them but this year I decided it was my time again and so here I am. My style is clean and simple and I love double layouts with lots of photo. My main focus of scrapbooking is the journaling and then the photos. I love colour and I have just started project life which I am really getting hooked into. I make cards too and love stamps and the techniques that you can use. I am an avid photographer and I have lots of willing subjects, I love to read and I have my extensive music collection playing most days. You can find me on...
